Live Well

Living well means enriching your inner strength, the vitality of your mind and body. Resident Ping Chao is living proof of that value system. When Ping came to The Alhambra, he had recently injured his hip and was confined to a wheelchair. After dedicating himself to working out in the gym and exercise class every day, Ping no longer needed the wheelchair to get around The Alhambra. He now not only walks without any assistance, he’s one of the best dancers in the community!

The Alhambra also has a host of organized programs to help develop your health and spirit. The on-campus Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), sponsored in conjunction with California State University Los Angeles, offers top-tier course offerings in a wide range of subjects like tai chi, Shakespeare, African dance and classes on Aging and Spirituality.

We are proud to feature the Dakim [m]Power cognitive fitness system. Combining fun and enjoyable yet rigorous cognitive exercises with the latest touch screen technology, [m]Power is the perfect tool to help maintain brain health and mental acuity. [m]Power is designed for use by virtually all seniors, from those with the sharpest minds to seniors who have mild cognitive impairment, those at risk for Alzheimer's disease, and even those with moderate dementia. Living well at The Alhambra is easy. You make the decisions and we’re here to support you.
