Our Artistic Side

Art is a creative passion that our residents cherish. Renowned therapeutic artist Linda Bounds works with residents as part of a unique program, NewstARTs, designed to teach everyone from the experienced artist to the complete novice the benefits of artistic expression. Through these exciting workshops, our residents have created magnificent collaborative paintings and original solo works of art. Resident Shirley Williams had never even touched a paintbrush before working with Linda Bounds. Today, she is creating dazzling paintings that proudly hang in our Front Porch Gallery.

At our Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad, we not only exhibit the artwork of our residents, we also celebrate those remarkable artists who’ve created them. The Front Porch Gallery also partners with community arts organizations to create an understanding of aging through art.
